What I Believe about…
The Word of God
I believe that the King James Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, authoritative, and preserved Word of God.
I believe by faith that the Lord has given us an unbroken chain of Scripture. I believe that the "copies" are without error, knowing the original is in Heaven. Psalm 119:89
I do not believe in the "re-inspiration" of the King James Bible. Inspiration came once while preservation continues to provide us with a perfect copy of God's Word. Psalms12:6-7
Things that are different are not the same!
We reject all other so called "Bibles". John 12:48 "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."
Salvation
I believe that salvation is a free gift from God. Offered to any sinner who believes in Jesus Christ by faith and faith alone.
It is only by God's unmerited favor. Ephesians 2:8
I believe that repentance is necessary for salvation to take place. Matthew 9:12,13 Acts 26:17-20 II Corinthians 7:9,10 II Peter 3:9
Salvation is offered to all mankind but must be personally received by calling on Jesus Christ. I John 5:13 John 3:15 John 20:31
Separate/Different from the World
The Bible is clear about the fact that we are given a responsibility to be distinctly different than the world in body and in spirit. This is called personal separation or standards of holiness. I Corinthians 6:19,20 II Corinthians 6:14-18 Romans 12:1,2 John 17:14-16
James 1:27 "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
Separation from some believers
When Biblically necessary, we are not to fellowship with unruly or doctrinally unsound believers whether in our church membership or not. Ephesians 5:10,11 Romans 16:17 I Corinthians 5:11 II Thessalonians 3:14
Witnessing
All who are saved are called to be Soulwinners. We should be actively pursuing the lost to tell them of the saving grace of our Lord. This should not be a once a week activity but a duty that accompanies our life here on Earth.
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
God
There is only one God. Isaiah 43:10-11
I believe God is three distinct persons, yet one in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Father is God- Romans 1:7
Jesus is God- John 1:1,14
The Holy Spirit is God- Acts 5:3-4
Jesus
I believe that Jesus died in our place to be punished for our sins.
I believe His blood was a complete payment for all sins and there is no limit to his atonement. He died for all mankind!
I believe in the power and necessity of His shed blood. Hebrews 9:22
I believe His soul was made a sacrifice in Hell and He rose from the grave after three days. I believe that 40 days after He rose from the grave, He bodily ascended into Heaven.
I believe in His second coming for His Saints. We call this Pre-Tribulation and Pre-Millennial doctrine.
Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit/Ghost of God is an actual person of the Trinity and not just an influence.
His ministry includes:
Convicting (John 16:8)
Regenerating (John 3:3-5, II Cor. 15:17, Ephesians 2:1)
Indwelling the Believer (John 14:16-18)
Seals Believer Forever (II Cor. 1:22, Eph. 1:13)
Instructs us (John 16:13, John 14:26, I John 2:27)
Leads us (Romans 8:14)
Fills us (Eph. 5:18, Acts 2:4, Act 13:52)
Church
Just because a church carries the name baptist, does not make it a Biblical Church.
A Baptist Church is set up only upon The Doctrine found in the Scripture. Matthew 16:18 I Timothy 3:14-15 Matthew 28:19, 20
I believe in a visible, local, called out assembly (saved and baptized) of believers who carry out the Great Commission.
Every born again believer make up the family of God. The local church is not the same as the family of God.
Each Church is Independent of each other. I Corinthians 12:27
Each Church has only two Scriptural Offices I Timothy 3:1-3 which are the Pastor and Deacons.
Each Church has two Scriptural Ordinances (Observance) which are Baptism (water immersion for believers only) and The Lord's Supper( a memorial)
Evangelism/Missions
This is the lifeblood of the New Testament Baptist Church. It manifests the very heart and soul purpose of the Saviour as He came "to seek and to save that which was lost."
I believe every means must be employed to advance the support of Missionary/Evangelists both home and on foreign fields.
Unmovable & Always Abounding
I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
I am unmovable on my faith in The Faith once delivered to the saints. This does not mean I know everything and I am right in everything I say and do. I am always abounding and trying to learn and be better than I am today.
**I am a sinner. A saved sinner but at best a sinner. I make mistakes. My belief is in the perfect God of Heaven and His Word.**
Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.”
